SB0099 : V6.4.5.340 Service Release for all Vix00 and x000 series consoles Now Available! ======================================================================================== We are pleased to announce another software update for the Vi console range. The software release V6.4.5.340 for all Vi1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000 and Vi200/400/600 consoles is now available from the Soundcraft website. Version 6.4.5.340 is a service release incorporating mainly bug fixes, but with some new features and improvements as well. The features and bug fixes are summarised below, there is no separate user guide for this update. In order to ensure maximum stability and usability, we recommend that this software be installed on all Vix00 and x000 consoles. New Features and improvements ============================= • Further extensions to the HiQnet remote control interface to include: -the Mute Group master buttons -the Pan controls for stereo Aux sends from input channels -the Limiter parameters on input channels and busses. This is aimed at use with the 3rd-party developed Mixing Station app, available from https://dev-core.org/mixing-station/ Mixing Station is a highly customizable cross-platform remote control app available for Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android and we are currently recommending this app as a more flexible and fully-featured alternative for ViSi Remote, which is not being updated with this change. The Mute Group masters have been a long-requested feature and the Aux pan controls allow monitor mixes to be fully controlled remotely by musicians. The Mixing Station app is ideal for use as a personal monitor controller, as it can be set up with access control to show only the mix controls for a single Aux mix. For Mixing Station app documentation, see https://dev-core.org/ms-docs/ • Channel Scope buttons in Snapshot page GUI now use Short channel labels for inputs and VCAs instead of just ‘CH01, CH02,.. etc. Makes it easier to recognise channels when selecting or deselecting them from recall scope. Busses and VCAs already had this feature. • Displayed dB increment of Vistonics rotary controls for Input Trim; Insert Send Trim; vMIX Cal & Weight; Return Talkback Gain, all changed from 0.1dB to 0.5dB resolution to make setting to 0dB easier. (Note, there is no audio impact to this change as ramping is used in the DSP to smooth out level changes. Saved values in existing Show files will be recalled as they were). Bug Fixes ========= • Patch points appeared reversed if you opened patching screen on the right channel of a stereo input channel or LR Master bus out, then switched to left channel using L button. • Bus Labels were not protected by partial or full isolation during a Show load with Load ISO with Show set to ‘No’ (Bus label isolation was added in the previous release 6.4.4). • Bus Label looked like it was not isolated (no purple text shown in Vistonics GUI) when it was in fact isolated (Bus label isolation was added in the previous release 6.4.4). • Virtual Vi crashed if network adaptor selection dialogue was clicked in a blank area followed by OK. • Added new DCID list to support latest SHURE QLX-D and ULX-D wireless receiver hardware IDs. • Changed timing in DSP firmware to fix a bug causing some DSP boards to fail factory production test. Vi1/2/4/6 consoles note ======================= Note that Vi1, 2, 4 and 6 consoles use software version 4.9.x, therefore the V6.4.5 software update cannot be installed on these consoles. No updates to the V4.9 software that runs on these consoles are being planned at this time. The current version is V4.9.2.306b. Offline Editor ============== An updated version of the Virtual Vi Offline Editor is also available incorporating the above features and bug fixes, allowing pre-programming of Show files. Show compatibility ================== There are no serious Show compatibility issues with this release. ViSi Remote iPad app ==================== There is no change to the ViSi Remote app with this release. Where to get the software update ================================ Downloads are now available on the Soundcraft website: http://www.soundcraft.com • From the Vi1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000 and Vi400/600 CPU Upgrade product pages.
