When a device boots up (is online), it negotiates its own HiQnet address and keeps this address until there is a conflict at start up or it is manually reassigned another HiQnet address. This address is a unique number that allows the software, the users and the devices to keep track of each other.
Available online devices are displayed in HiQnet Explorer, on Network Settings - Devices, and on the venue view if it has been added to the venue.
All devices, including offline devices, are displayed in Venue Explorer and on the venue view.
The HiQnet address includes a device address, a virtual device address, a processing object address, and a parameter address.
When changing HiQnet addresses, you must prevent conflicts in order for Audio Architect to function properly. Conflicts occur when multiple devices are assigned the same HiQnet address. You can get a complete list of all device addresses in the Venue Explorer and online device addresses in the Advanced Network Configuration and the HiQnet Explorer.
