Updates to Dante firmware are done via the Dante Firmware Update Manager (FUM). The FUM can be downloaded from the Audinate website – www.audinate.com. Click on Search on the top right corner. Enter “firmware update manager”.
To install Firmware Update Manager you will need to be logged on with administrator privileges.
Note: You do not need to uninstall the previous version before installing this version.
1. Ensure you are logged on to your computer as an administrator.
2. Navigate to and double-click the downloaded installer file.
3. Read the license agreement. If you agree to the terms, select the 'I agree' checkbox and click Install.
4. If you do not agree to the terms, click Close.
5. Confirm / acknowledge any Windows security prompts that are displayed.
Connect the Dante ports on a network via a switch
Connect Ethernet from the enabled network card on the PC to the Dante network
Open the Dante Firmware Update Manager
Select the Network card for the Dante network (Next)
Click on ‘Update Dante Firmware’
Browse to the location of the Dante Firmware - C:\Program Files\Harman Pro\Audio Architect x.xx\FirmwareUpdates\SoundwebLondonDante.dnt, and open the file.(Next)
Dante devices which are on the Dante network which the PC is connected to will be listed
Select the devices to update
Click start
Once the update has completed a dialog box will appear indicating that the devices must be restarted for the update to take effect. Power cycle the Soundweb devices.
Close the Dante Firmware Update Manager
Dante firmware cannot be updated via Audio Architect. Audio Architect will prompt for an update as follows:
If the device is not running current Soundweb firmware, AA will prompt for a firmware update before going online
Open the AA firmware updater to update the Soundweb host firmware
After updating this firmware, if AES67 is not enabled in the properties for the device then there is no change to normal procedure, AA will go online to the devices
If AES67 is enabled in properties for the device then when going online AA will check that the Dante firmware on the card supports AES67
If
the Dante card does not have support for AES67 AA will inform the
user that the Dante firmware requires updating and prevent going online.
