Philosophy - DriveRack 4800/4820

The memory structure of the DriveRack 4800/4820 consists of Attributes and Presets.

Attributes
Device attributes are global functions that affect the entire unit like the sample rate. Most of the DriveRack 4800/4820 attributes are found in the Utilities section of the Tools menu (see Menus) in the Control Panel. Some attributes, like Mutes and Solos, are managed directly from the front of the Control Panel.

Presets
A Preset is a collection of the processing functions, and their locations in the signal path. Presets are managed from the Control Panel using the Preset bar (see Control Panel). The Control Panel shows the processing functions prominently as icons, where each icon represents the processing function in that signal path location. Double clicking on these icons allows the user access to the underlying parameters of these functions. Saving a Preset saves every parameter of all processing functions shown. While it is not part of any signal processing path, the RTA also has parameters that are saved as part of the Preset.

Files
Besides the Presets and Attributes that are stored on the DriveRack unit, Audio Architect provides additional file types that can be saved to the computer, the Preset File, Device file and Venue file. The Preset file is just that, a version of the Preset stored to the PC. The Device file captures the entire unit including all Presets stored and all Attributes of that unit. The Venue File is the final extension; the Venue file is a snapshot of the entire Venue with the current Preset and Attributes of every unit in the venue. The Venue file is saved from the File menu of the Venue View.

Control Panel
All Presets, Processing Functions and their Parameters, as well as device Attributes of the DriveRack 4800/4820 are accessed via the DriveRack Device Control Panel. In addition to these functions, the Control Panel File Menu also provides the capability of saving Preset and Device files.
