Control Panel - DriveRack 4800/4820

Control Panel

The Control Panel (shown below) provides a graphic representation of the processing occurring in the DriveRack 4800/4820 unit. It also gives complete access to a variety of tools that can be used to save or change the DriveRack unit.

Menus

The Menu Bar, located at the top of the Control Panel, offers you a considerable amount of control. From this Menu Bar, Preset and Device files can be saved and/or recalled. The Tools pull-down menu provides access to the Configuration Wizard and the Utilities menu. The Configuration Wizard is used to change thek device processing configuration. the Utilities menu is where the majority of the DriveRack attributes are shown and can be manipulated.

Presets

The Preset Tool located directly below the Menu Bar is used to Store and Recall Presets to and from the DriveRack unit.

Processing Icons

Each processing module in the signal path of the DriveRack 4800/4820 is displayed as an icon in the main window of the Control Panel. These icons are designed to give a representation of the processing that is occurring. Processing can broken down into Input and Output processing.

Input Processing

Input Processing functions include the Input Mixer/Router, an Input Graphic EQ as well as a second EQ that can be switched between Parametric and Graphic, two Insert processing positions and an Input Delay. The Inserts allow different DSP functions to be inserted in these positions to customize the processing for the application.

Output Processing

Processing functions available on the outputs include a Mixer/Router module, two more Insert processing positions, Bandpass or Crossover filters, a 6-band Parametric EQ, and configurable Output Delay.

Meters

Meters are shown on the Control Panel giving the user immediate feedback regarding input and output levels and tri-color Threshold indicators for each output showing the state of the output dynamics.

Mutes and Solos

Directly under the output meters are two banks of buttons that can be used to mute or solo the outputs.

RTA

The final button available on the Control Panel is the Real Time Analyzer (RTA) icon. This icon provides access to the internal RTA of the DriveRack 4800/4820. If a signal is being analyzed by the DriveRack unit, a copy of the 1/3 Octave response is displayed in the RTA window.
